How Do I Install a Moen Smart Kitchen Faucet?

Assuming you have a Moen smart kitchen faucet that is compatible with the HomeKit platform, here are the steps to get it set up and working in your kitchen. 1. First, make sure that your faucet is turned off at the main water supply. You’ll then need to remove the handle of your faucet so that you can access the valve.

To do this, locate the set screw on the underside of the handle and loosen it with an Allen wrench. The handle should then come right off. 2. With the handle removed, take a look at the valve itself.

There will be a small brass ring around it – this needs to be removed as well. Use a pair of pliers to carefully twist and pull it off. 3a.

If you see two screws holding down a metal plate on top of the valve, then proceed to Step 3b. Otherwise, skip ahead to Step 4. 3b.

In order to remove the screws and metal plate, you’ll first need to insert an allen wrench into each one and unscrew them until they’re loose enough to pull out by hand (be careful not to drop them down into the sink!). With both screws removed, gently lift up on the plate until it comes free from the valve body – there may be some resistance due to mineral buildup, so use caution when removing it. underneath you’ll see a white plastic disc – this is what needs to be replaced with Moen’s HomeKit-compatible smart disc (included in your kit).

4a .If there’s only one screw holding down a black plastic cap on top ofthe valve ,proceedto step4b ,otherwise ,skip aheadto step5 . 4b .

How Do You Install a Moen Faucet?

Assuming you have a Moen faucet with 1225 cartridge: 1. Turn off the water to the sink by closing the valves under the sink. 2. Open up the faucet handle to allow any water left in the line to drain out.

3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the decorative cap, if there is one, from beneath the handle. Unscrew and remove the handle screw using an Allen wrench. You may find this underneath the decorative cap or at the back of the lever where it meets the base of the faucet (if there is no cap).

Gently pull offthe handle. 4. Insert an 1/8-inch allen wrench into hole in front of cartridge retainer nut and unscrew it (counterclockwise). Remove retainer nut, washer and O-ring seal using pliers then pull out old cartridge with needle nose pliers being careful not to damage housing unit as you remove it.

Some lubricant on new O-rings will make for an easier install but isn’t necessary.. 5a) If your model has brass press fit sleeves: Look inside valve body for two small brass press fit sleeves (one on each side).

Grasp each sleeve with needle nose pliers and pull straight down to remove from valve body – they should come out easily if you’ve removed everything else correctly so far.. 5b) If your model does _not_ have brass press fit sleeves: Proceed directly to step 6..

6) Inspect o-rings and seats in valve body for wear or debris then rinse clean with white vinegar diluted 50/50 with water and a soft bristle brush such as an old toothbrush – do _not_ use anything abrasive like steel wool or sandpaper! Be sure to also clean threads in valve body well since that’s where your new o-rings will reside..

7) Lubricate new o-rings (and seats if present on your model) lightly with petroleum jelly then set aside until ready for installation.. 8) Take note of how old cartridge was oriented in housing unit before removal – new one must be inserted facing same direction! Slide new cartridge into place being careful not injure it or cross threading housing unit, then hand tighten retaining nut clockwise until snug..

How Do You Tighten a Moen Kitchen Faucet Base?

If your Moen kitchen faucet is leaking from the base, it may be because the nut underneath the sink is loose. To tighten the nut, you will need a wrench. First, locate the nut under the sink.

It should be located on the supply line coming from the wall. Use a wrench to turn the nut clockwise to tighten it. If it is still leaking, you may need to replace the washer on the end of the supply line.
